Drop in Saturday the 14th and celebrate our 2nd anniversary! I’m baking cupcakes – which I don’t do very often being against sugar 99% of the time – so it’s a rare treat around here!
My assistant/aspiring tattoo artist Kaylee will be here to draw henna tattoos for interested parties & we also have some delightful Chicago style popcorn to share.
When I first turned this abandoned salon into an art shop, I really didn’t know what it was going to become. My original vision was that it be a place to sell art made by local artists – which it is. It has evolved into a unique place where you can also almost always blow bubbles, draw with chalk, get a balloon or a book, look at beautiful paintings and photography, inhale yummy incense and soaps, try on jewelry or a hand-crocheted shawl or hat, feel soft leather or feathers and hear silverware wind chimes chime. If you stay more than ten minutes or so, you can usually hear a train on the tracks… people who don’t live in New Haven usually love that.
Sometimes you will run into one of the artists, and have great conversations about art and what’s going on with the art happenings all around the area.
And it’s also a place where you can come and make your own art. Or mess. Which is usually the case for me. But the artists that teach the classes are really good, and always include information you can take home with you to help with ongoing creativity outside the class…which I think is helpful.
So anyway, happy 2nd anniversary to us! If you haven’t been in, come in! And if you’re one of our regulars, PLEASE come in and share a treat with us!
Please consider joining us for one or more of these fun classes!
